In the latter half of 2024, Indonesia's cryptocurrency market experienced substantial growth, reflecting a rising interest among investors. Data from the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti) indicates that from January to November 2024, the total value of crypto transactions reached IDR 556.53 trillion, marking a 356.16% increase compared to the same period in 2023, which stood at IDR 122 trillion.
This surge is attributed to several factors, including increased digital literacy and the perception of cryptocurrencies as a viable alternative investment. The most traded cryptocurrencies among Indonesian investors include Tether (USDT), Bitcoin (BTC), Dogecoin (DOGE), Pepe (PEPE), and XRP (XRP).
The number of crypto investors in Indonesia also saw a significant rise, reaching 22.1 million by November 2024. Of these, approximately 1.3 million were active traders engaging through registered crypto asset traders. 0 reply
