that's right, it's not equivalent. @geohot called it "bridged bitcoin" but "burnt bitcoin" is more accurate. *for now*, value would be at most 1BTC (bc u can always turn 1btc into 1bbtc) but with no lower bound... bbtc could trade at $0, pure loss. only way bbtc can be > btc is if/when the btc chain dies.

The challenge with this idea is that for now 1 BBTC is worth at most 1 BTC. You need a special circumstance to drive demand. If enough people realize btc has no long term security budget…

not a vulnerability, but you probably want a configurable multiplier on getReturnPerSlot, otherwise results depend on token decimals. for example, stake 1 USDC = 1e6 ^ (3/4) = $0.03 reward per slot stake 1 DAI = 1e18 ^ (3/4) = $0.00003 reward per slot

it's aesthetically ugly that the place for high energy adversarial discourse is one guy's personal site, while the most "decentralization"-presenting places from Dweb Camp to bluesky etc enforce strict ideological conformity. maybe farcaster (the protocol) fixes this? would take an alt client and a totally new crowd.
