hot take: CHANNELS are the killer app here for 90% of incoming users, NOT frames community and niche topic discussions. accessible, but not obtrusive. less clunky and more useful than now mostly defunct hashtags on X it’s a game changer, and will be the core of why this app succeeds imo best parts of X and Reddit

It's definitely nice, but I was wondering how it will be sustainable if there are thousands of channels with hundreds of thousands of users in each.

💯 agree sir. The killer app of Farcaster is better Reddit. (Though channels are Warpcast only, not in the protocol itself.)

💯 % it’s a feature so seamlessly integrated that it’s value is overlooked by most. People forget, but pre frames it was once the shiny new thing that drove up DAU. Writing something around this currently. Looking forward to getting your take when it’s ready.

Both are great features, but I don't think we've found a "killer app" yet. It needs to be something new using the features of blockchain/decentralization in combination with social.

I think channels are 1a and frames are 1b. A channel with a pinned frame turns = an app. Now you have a comms touchpoint that's seamlessly integrated with a product touchpoint. Social media is traditionally fractured from the larger brand experience; combined, these features create a new way to interface w/ a brand
