When Trump won in 2016 I recall people being devastated and shocked, there was a physically palpable sense that something insane had happened. This time it couldn't feel more normal in general – most muted election of my lifetime.

People voted against him are holding on to the idea that he'll change his cabinet every few months like last time and his administrative ineptitude will forestall too much damage. People who voted for him do not seem to be driven by die-hard Trumpism this time but by not wanting to vote establishment.
