if your only value prop for people to come use your product is getting paid or speculating in getting paid later in time - then the above is true always unfortunately that's the case with most crypto protocols/apps, but doesn't to be that way incentives -> user acquisition product -> retention

Agreed unless there is a cross/down stream service or solution they offer to another ‘customer type’ in your ecosystem that brings back revenue. Think what's needed are intrinsic incentives & not exit promoting primitives such as tokens. Working on stuff around vesting, slashing mechanics etc. to solve this.
