I have a painter friend who is privileged to have his studio in a place in Old Havana known as La Loma del Angel, a place that is the natural setting of one of the best Cuban novels of costumbrista style written in the nineteenth century, entitled "Cecilia Valdes". In my last visit to my friend's studio I felt that romantic melodrama revived in the place. And in front of the church that is located on this site, I discovered, I don't know why, for the first time the life-size bronze sculpture of the beautiful mestiza protagonist of the novel. Believing myself to be the young Leonardo (the male protagonist) I approached her, and without asking permission from the metal girl who felt real, I gave her a deep kiss on the cheek. Then an Angel flew out.

In this channel I have discovered several Cubans who, like me, are passionate about antique cars. Although they can be found all over the country, they are especially common in Havana, the capital. Although I am not from Havana, on a recent visit to Old Havana I could not help but capture several images of these cars touring the city and I share them with you.
