I think their results are exactly inverse, though the tech to recommend well is much more complex (which is why I’d guess pervasive moderation came first)

If the posts you see were more based on the meaning of those posts than the people you follow, if you only saw the posts that were helpful or interesting to you… how would moderation issues evolve?

I sort of get moderating what’s shared when sharing = broadcasting. But if sharing were more nuanced.. if not all you share were broadcasted to your followers’ news feeds…

It’s funky to me that big social networks have centralized moderation of the content people share rather than decentralized moderation of the content people receive.

I’m insanely excited + worried about AI agents that can self reflect. I think they’ll exist within the year. All it takes, relative to current language models (chat gpt), I think, are two things:

followers, channels, groups all seem like approximate ways to find content that helps ya what if you the thing at the top of your feed were always the thing, of every thing on the internet, most likely to improve your life (regardless of whether you follow the author or joined the channel where it was posted)
