The ministry was supposed to make government work more efficiently and solve some of the problems of procrastination. Musk believes that even if the reform goal is big, there must be a clear deadline. Coincidentally, the timing of the closure coincided with the 250th anniversary of American independence, which felt like a fresh start for the country.
