Wow. I just read it and I'm genuinely blown away.
The public conversation started by @ace about the history of "reply-to-earn" was the most important one we could have. Today, it just received the most powerful answer possible from @jake.
His belief in the original vision of @balajis.eth Earn.com, and his single, crucial insight that they were early, and we might not be, it's validates the entire thesis for Reply.
The bet has always been that we're at a unique intersection where:
1. Culture is Ready: Thanks to the daily habits built around tools like @noiceapp, @ampsfun, @qrcoindotfun, @tipn and others.
2. Tech is Ready: Thanks to the seamless mini-app stack.
To see this thesis echoed by someone who was there is all the conviction I need to keep building.
And this brings me to the second point: this entire interaction is a masterclass in the value of the QR app auction @qrcoindotfun . I haven't even won the auction yet, and it has already led to this incredible, high-signal endorsement and a new supporter. It is, without a doubt, a win-win for serious builders.

Today was a build day. Here are the results.
I’m excited to share a major update to Reply, focused on discovery, user experience, and reliability, all based directly on your feedback.
Introducing the New Discovery Homepage The biggest change is a brand new homepage. Instead of just a search bar, you'll now find a curated list of active users, sorted by followers, making it easier than ever to find and connect with key people on Farcaster.
I'm incredibly humbled to already see builders like @ahn.eth, @esdotge, @kylepatrick.eth, @push-, @dish, @burrrrrberry and other awesome people on the list. This is a huge step toward making Reply a core piece of Farcaster infrastructure.
Quality of Life Upgrades I've also shipped a ton of UI/UX improvements you asked for:
- Better Mobile Chat: The reply box now intelligently resizes as you type, and the layout adjusts to your keyboard. No more typing blind.
- Clean & Consistent Prices: Large reply prices are now formatted cleanly (e.g., "1M"), and the display is consistent across the entire app.
- Back Button Added: I've added a back button to user pages for much smoother navigation.
Bug Fixes & What's Next A reliable app is my top priority. I've squashed some critical bugs:
- Fixed the "Invalid Price" display error for very large token amounts.
- Resolved an issue where special characters in names or messages would break Telegram notifications.
A quick note on Search: To make way for the new homepage and ensure a high-quality experience, I've temporarily hidden the search bar. The old system wasn't good enough. I'm rebuilding it from scratch to be much faster and more accurate, and it's my top priority for the next update.

random observations: have noticed for a year+ that the behaviors / trends / content that do the best here track closest to early Facebook than to any other current platform (X, TikTok, Insta).
why?
i think there's an exhaustion with performative social and instead people crave low-stakes, casual spaces where they can share random thoughts and just connect.
farcaster offers that to a lot of users today; the most common pieces of feedback:
- from the older generation, "it reminds me of the early internet"
- from the younger generation, "its for posting whatever is on my mind, which can be harder to do on other platforms. magic internet friends."
for the millennials, it offers a brand new network. they're not posting to friends or colleagues; they're posting to their followers most of whom they've never met before.
for college students, they never had a public digital space like Facebook. they only had instagram (performative feed) or snapchat (private messaging).
the other similarity with Facebook is that it had Facebook Platform: set of tools / product for third-party devs to create their own apps that could access data in Facebook (gifts, marketplace, events, video, games; honestly worth studying the history of Facebook Platform). 34 replies
