This evening in Germany there was unfortunately an attack on a Christmas market in Magdeburg in which a car drove into a crowd of people and, according to current information, seriously injured dozens of people and claimed the lives of 2 victims, a man and a little girl. The perpetrator is a doctor from Saudi Arabia who came to Germany in 2006. Nothing is currently known about the motive for the crime, but the perpetrator has been arrested by German police

Now that Assad has been toppled, the question is what now? First of all, I am happy for the citizens that they have now been redeemed from Assad, but the question now is what happens next, will the rebels support a peaceful exchange of power or is there someone who will take advantage of this? A power vacuum in such a region is dangerous and what will happen to the Kurds?

Im from a small village near Frankfurt Germany. We have a lot do with the Celtics who lived hear a long time ago. As a child I always wondered why I got the second name Taran until I learned that the name Taran is Celtic and is derived from their God of thunder Taranis who is the counterpart to Thor from the Nordic mythology

The Russians won but with high losses. The Germans at that time were trying everything to stabilize the eastern front. Although they made good progress in the beginning , they had to retreat due to the numerical superiority of the Russians. This further destabilized the eastern front and forced the Germans to retreat. The losses on both sides are hard to tell but the numbers that are often thrown around are around 800,000 Causalities on the Russian side and 200,000 on the German side

Tactics also play a role but can also be balanced by quantity see Ukraine, the Ukrainians are brave soldiers and really hold out very well but in the long term this is not sustainable no matter how many weapons they get. They will simply run out of soldiers

Yes indeed, what I love about max is his consistency, will to fight hard and that he doesn’t hide anything. He reminds me a bit of Michael if I’m honest. And to be totally honest mentally he is the strongest on the field right now

In war, quantity takes precedence over quality - of course it has to work reliably, but it is more important to have more than the enemy. WW1 shows this very well in the war of attrition: as long as you have more soldiers than the enemy and can supply them with weapons and keep their morale up, you win in the long term.

Interesting according to the Bovington tank museum the Stug III was the deadliest tank of the Second World War with around 30,000 tanks destroyed and cheap the build. Although the effectiveness came from it being in used in the defense

If we are talking WW2 I’m biased I would pick either the Tiger I oder the Panther even tho they aren’t perfect (not enough horsepower and weak transmissions) the reputation they earned together with their guns and look make them unique to me. Honorable mentions would be the M4A3E8 Sherman, T-34-85 and the Stug III

Speaking of Kursk, I find it interesting to mention that the Kursk region (1943) was the scene of the largest tank battle in the history of mankind, involving about 6000 tanks, 2,000,000 soldiers and about 4000 airplanes

According to Reuters, Ukraine has already lost 40% of the territories it captured in Kursk. Its important to Putin to recaptured the region before Donald Trump enters office because he doesn’t want to negotiate over Russian land. Kursk is the first time since the end of the Second World War that Russian territory is attacked by ground troops
