Ideas are worth gold when you share them, shout about them and inspire folks. 

There's value in being passionate about sharing your ideas. Giving them away. Building an entire brand around your thinking.

Woz and Jobs were members of the Homebrew Computer Club when they founded Apple. 

They met regularly to share their ideas.

They didn't build in stealth mode, terrified that someone else would build a better computer.

I absolutely love sharing ideas, I do it almost every day helping others (mostly artists) conceptualise ideas. One of my fave things in the world. 

Wozza & Jobsy were amongst trusted people.

I love sharing all in these groups of like-minded individuals and some publicly, but with a few ideas, I will keep up my sleeve

This is a fascinating point and I want to write something and respond because I think a lot of this is contextual and dependent on the maturity of the space.
