Every decision to invest - whether it's time, money, or effort - comes with an invisible price tag. That price? It's whatever you're giving up to make that investment. The road not taken. The option you've now foregone. Economists call it opportunity cost.

Before committing resources to anything, ask: What's the next best way I could deploy those same resources? What other doors will close if I go through this one? The real cost isn't just the line item on your budget. It's the lost potential of the paths you've now eliminated.

The true price is always relative to the choices you're not making. The best use of your time, treasure and talent is the one that wins versus the alternatives you leave behind.
