I just learned an interesting fact about the San Onofre nuclear power station that was recently decommissioned in San Diego. The plant generated 1,150 megawatts of electrical power. That amount of electricity required ~4,000 megawatts of thermal power. That is 29% efficiency. Seems like untapped potential.
