Look all the fighting in the world, is due to ego which is another word the inability to listen and understand what the other people is saying.

This off course starts from a young age. Starts at the house, where kids are not being listened to by the parents. Honest how many of you had that experienced?

I had that experience when I was young, away from my parents when I was young. Dad passed away when I was 5, and having middle child syndrome with my mom.

And @pmarca talks about how in US school is kind of messed up, how the schools listen to the teachers more instead of students.

it all starts in the family, then the school system enforces it.

this is maybe we need like 1-2 years paid maternity in the US, or even for the male spouse. Isn't the European doing this already? It helps a lot during those the first 3 years of childhood, mother to stay with the young ones and listen to their babies instead of at childcare.
