the number one thing i have learned from social media is that most everyone has an opinion on how someone else should live his or her life or prioritize this or that value at the end of the day, it’s a whole lot easier to criticize others from behind a screen than to take a good hard look in the mirror and ask why

The thing I have learned most from social media is the feed phenomena, whereby feeds fill voids of inaction. What is happening? Instead of coming up with your own thoughts, in due time and thoughtful interaction, feeds satiate half truths and incentivize inaction. The entire social media phenomena is ephemeral, and I believe this is a problem for us because we as users of social media have to create the constructs into which to make sense of emerging opinions and ideas, but have no way of remedying this issue because the methods of feed generation are barred behind private corporations. The lines of public and private have never been so blurred in this time in history.
