You've read it? More than once?! I've honestly never met anyone else who's read or even heard of that book. First read it in 2011.  I still return to it regularly.

I think it's enormously underrated. Buhner is one of my fav writers.

As @picnic can tell you, it's the first book I recommended to her when she joined FC.

I also have The Timeless Way of Building on my shelves, and digital copies of the four volumes of The Nature of Order. Love them all. 

If there were a slowcore aristocracy, Christopher Alexander would surely rank on or near the top.

"Slowcore" is something I made up to express my distaste for hustle culture, but over time I started using it in other ways. 

(It's actually a music genre too, but I don't use it in those contexts).

You have the right idea with "focusing on the journey" and bringing your full attention to mundane things.

This is my first time hearing such a theme exist! 

Sorry for a dumb question but is “slowcore” like focusing on the journey and its mundaneness at times? Or am I looking at it from the wrong perspective
