Reading about the suicide pod story. Why does the pod have such a jaunty design even including a Carl Sagan quote printed on it? It looks like a character from the cartoon Transformers or a 90s model car. I'd assume it would be black and mournful. People have been traveling to Switzerland to kill themselves in this pod: https://www.theguardian.com/society/2024/sep/24/several-detained-in-switzerland-over-suicide-capsule-death-police-say

I have no problem with this. Inhaling an inert gas has got to be the best, least painful and most peaceful, way to go. The pod allows you to go out without anything over your face (I.e gas mask) and the windows let you have a view of nature while you do it. Why should it look like the Death Star or a coffin? No one asked to be here, no one should be forced to stay here. Least of all the terminally ill.

Thanks for saying this so eloquently. I feel the same about the Sarco. I've been a member of Exit International (a right-to-die organization) for years. After recently watching a family member's decline and death from Alzheimer's, I'm even more convinced.
