One solution to the risk of claiming airdrops would be if airdrops stopped requiring the claim tx to be initiated by the eligible account. Let any account initiate another accountโs claim process, to itself.

this is a common method now, love that it enabled the claim from a hot wallet, or even a sponsored claim from an airdrop notification service

Might be too crazy to work, but maybe wallets could standardize a single airdrop/free mint 4337 wallet that everyone has the option to use when the wallet detects that state change can be achieved independent of the sender. Mints have to be bundled with a transfer to the user, but airdrops should work out of the box

Maybe this solution can raise some additional concerns. Additionally, it could lead to complications in terms of liability and security, as it could be difficult to verify the authenticity of claims made by accounts other than the eligible one.

What Iโm hearing is MetaMask is preparing for a drop ๐ Seriously though, the entire airdrop meta and wallet hygiene is abysmal at the moment. Iโm surprised more people havenโt been completely drained. The other risk with your solution is someone forcing a taxable event, but no worse than a straight drop.
