what is the consensus on screen time for babies? not relevant for my 2 week old right now, but i am trying to learn what should we do as he gets older. is there research/material that goes deeper into this? also appreciate any personal experiences you can share on what worked and what did not...etc.

all my kids got screentime as young as 1. All of them are perfectly fine. Like everything in life balance is important, but if I'm trying to sit down with the family at a cracker barrel and wanna enjoy my meal/ make sure im connecting with my wife? Those kiddos are gettin a screen to keep em quiet

Thank you. Did you give screen time to mostly keep them quiet? What were they specifically watching on screens? I am hoping there is a way to keep them engaged in screens that is more helpful for them to develop their creative abilities or explore some curiosities that are mentally stimulating.

Sometimes it’s to keep them calm in a restaurant etc, other times it was for things like learning or even just because they like it. My 2 nearly 3 year old is an amazing talker and we attribute a lot of what he’s able to articulate to miss rachel videos. He loves monster trucks and paw patrol too so he watches that on occasion. Like I said it’s a balance, some days my kids gets none others they get a lot. That same 2 year old had a 101 fever today and we let him watch the paw patrol movie on repeat lol. As a parent with 4 kids my wife and I roll with the punches a little more than parents with only 1 or 2 but as long as you aren’t letting them be a vegetable screen time is a great tool.
