1. What channels? Why are they better than existing alternatives for those topics? 2. Why?

1. Channels for their interests or organizations they're a part of (including encouraging them to create new ones), they're better because they're customizable and the nerds can build on top of the primitives 2. College students are down to try new things + have free time to explore and build, they also often live in a constrained environment where the URL ↔ IRL pipeline can really thrive Reddit is the only other major network that allows for the specificity of channels but it's not very social (way more information-focused), Farcaster brings the identity piece and can enable students to make friends both at their school as well as across schools

As a college student, I strongly agree here. I feel like we have so many non-school related activities and interests which are so hard to find an "outlet" for. I always try to find high-quality information or people to learn from for niche topics, and Reddit isn't always the best option. Students are both information hungry and willing to participate if the stakes are low, imo. Personally, I've been exploring a lot of the topic channels here, but run into the issue of there being pretty minimal content and interaction to draw value from (ex: digital health is a topic I like but there's basically no activity there).
