The birthright thing is going to be really bad for Indian immigrants. I was in the H1B queue for 9 years, didn't get my application approved yet. Fortunately, ended up marrying a US citizen and became a resident. You now can lawfully work in this country for 10 years, and have your children not be legal residents.

The new system makes no sense and shows a lack of thinking through consequences both intended and unintended. What do you think happens longer term - birthright goes away and gets replaced by something more residency based? Or just no one gets to be American anymore 🥲
