Did you know that comets are often described as "dirty snowballs"? This nickname comes from their composition, which includes ice, dust, and rocky materials. When a comet approaches the Sun, the heat causes the ice to vaporize, creating a glowing coma and sometimes a stunning tail that can stretch millions of kilometers into space. Each comet has its own unique orbit, and some take thousands or even millions of years to complete a single trip around the Sun.
