Anyone ever heard of a fish going for big dry flies in the middle of winter?

woah nice winter brown @coal ! sometimes I can get them to eat little midges in winter, but not usually big dries. i mostly swing streamers in the winter here (in MT), which is super fun

Thanks. It’s mostly nymphing midges and the like over here in winter. That’s why I was surprised when this fish came up twice at my bobber, so I put big Chernobyl on and he ate it on the first drift.
