We just placed an order for medical supplies: 25 chest seals, 25 CAT tourniquets, 5 hemorrhage control bandages, 6 thermal blankets, 5 medical scissors, 15 trauma dressings. Incredibly sad news from Ukraine. RIP Chris 🫂💔 Chris Garrett was a bomb disposal expert, founder, and chairman of Prevail - a nonprofit doing incredible work demining de-occupied cities and villages, clearing explosive threats, and facilitating evacuations. Chris died while dismantling an improvised russian explosive device in the city of Izium in eastern Ukraine, where we just delivered aid with @crystalhearts. The city is heavily mined from the time of russian occupation, and organizations like Prevail work to clear those mines and disarm explosive devices so civilians don’t get killed. Because of them, many lives are being saved. This is so incredibly devastating.

Being back in Venice means back to breathwork classes at Open 🥹🙌 I ran to the class tonight. Been trying to keep up with breathwork on the Open app during the month I was in Ukraine, but nothing beats an IRL class where I can breathe, scream, and cry with a bunch of strangers 🤭

Will continue sharing some stories I didn’t get to share while I was still in Ukraine. I got to meet Audrey MacAlpine, an American reporter based in Ukraine who covers the war for United24. I’ve been following her reporting and sharing her articles here on Farcaster, but her personal journey was so wild I wanted to share it too. Audrey is an amazing bluegrass-country singer (!!!!) and musician who was based in Nashville, Tennessee. She also played upright bass with the Grammy-winning Sierra Ferrell. When russia invaded Ukraine, she uprooted her life to volunteer and help. She became a humanitarian aid worker helping civilians in frontline areas, and now she’s a reporter covering the war - she is doing assignments on the frontlines, embedded with military units. She has also been reporting from Syria. She’s one of the coolest people I met while in Ukraine, and I hope we get to do something together when I return in a few months.

Good morning, family! Wishing everyone an amazing week. I’m heading to the Cancer Center today for a check-up with my doctor, and I’m praying it’ll finally be my last visit. It was supposed to be last time, but my CA-125 levels went up, so I have to go back. I’m five years cancer-free, and I feel like it’s time to graduate—launch my podcast and start helping others. To be honest, I still get nervous that the cancer might come back and stop me again… but those fears also make me appreciate life so much more.

I got the best mental break after working on the ground in Ukraine, met some incredible people, had amazing conversations, and the best time in New York.
