Voters weigh in on US presidential debate — Will Trump or Biden mention crypto? Many crypto users are calling on CNN moderators Jake Tapper and Dana Bash to ask the two candidates at least one question related to digital assets. The presumptive party nominees for president of the United States may mention digital assets on a debate stage for the first time in history. U.S. President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are scheduled to meet for a debate at CNN’s Atlanta studios at 9:00 pm ET on June 27. Assuming it goes forward, the debate would also mark one of the first times candidates bypassed the Commission on Presidential Debates to arrange a time and place on their terms. Neither Biden nor Trump will have officially accepted the nominations to be the Democratic and Republican Party nominees for U.S. president at the time of the debate.

Vitalik Buterin backs new blockchain MegaETH as it raises $20 million at '9-figure' token valuation MegaLabs, the developer of a new blockchain called MegaETH, has raised $20 million in a seed funding round. MegaLabs began raising funds for the seed round last December and closed it in May, co-founder and chief business officer Shuyao Kong told The Block. The round was structured as equity plus token warrants and brought MegaETH's fully diluted token valuation to a "9-figure" amount, Kong said, meaning at least $100 million. Dragonfly led the seed round, with Figment Capital, Robot Ventures, Big Brain Holdings and others participating, MegaLabs said Thursday. Angel investors, including Ethereum ETH +3.42% co-founder Vitalik Buterin, ConsenSys founder and CEO Joseph Lubin, EigenLayer founder and CEO Sreeram Kannan, ETHGlobal co-founder Kartik Talwar, Helius Labs co-founder and CEO Mert Mumtaz, Santiago Santos, Hasu and Jordan Fish, aka Cobie, also joined the round.

CleanSpark acquires Bitcoin miner GRIID in $155 million deal The crypto miner CleanSpark has entered an agreement to purchase GRIID Infrastructure, a Bitcoin mining firm. CleanSpark will purchase all of GRIID's issued and outstanding stock in the deal for a total value of $155 million, according to a release from CleanSpark. The deal also means an "exclusive hosting agreement for all currently available power" resulting in CleanSpark obtaining 20 MW of production power. CleanSpark CEO Zach Bradford said in a statement that the firm's Tennessee operations are expected to exceed 100 MW by the end of the year and has a target of 400 MW operational power by 2026. "This acquisition would give us a clear and steady path over the next three years to accomplish in Tennessee what we proudly achieved in Georgia over the past three years," said Bradford in the release. "That achievement was to build out over 400 MW of infrastructure backed by valuable, long-term power contracts."
