My first job was in an Indian restaurant where the head chef stuck to his Bombay roots but his twin sous chefs couldn't speak English and didn't know how to do any fusion stuff (which was like 1/4 of the menu). When the HC was out on a bender I had to non-verbally teach them how to sear tuna after their first try came out like shoe leather. I also seared my elbow in the tandoori oven and met Vidal Sassoon (the person).
