Interesting argument. Reminds me of "why do people buy real estate on the coast while believing climate change will devastate the coasts?"

I've seen disease go into remission via epigenetics with staggering statistical significance, so I fundamentally disagree "it's in our genes."

Life insurance policies (the market) can make money in the face of epigenetics (stay irrational) because most people can't yet adopt epigenetic behaviors, environments, & resources (stay solvent)
