Ngl feels wild that I have 400k+ followers on here and have a bunch of posts that get less than 10 likes.

I know its kinda an impossible problem to solve but psychologically just feels weird.

Def on me to post better content but makes me not want to post niche stuff I care deeply about and instead just engagement farm topics that are more in the meta.

Anyone else or just me?

the algorithm needs a huge update

What has changed in the algo recently that should be tweaked?

I struggle with it cause I do feel like my feed is very engaging lately and its really nice to see newer accounts getting a lot more visibility and engagement

Jokes aside its literally impossible to please everyone and fwiw I'm cool with my posts being nerfed in the short term in favor of new accounts.

Forces me to adapt and learn and not get too comfy!

warpcast removed a large percentage of the bots recently and that has had a huge impact on the vanity metrics.

genuinely i don’t think their is an algorithm for the trending feed. i feel like if dwr likes a cast it gets pushed to trending.

i say this because v mentioned their dropping a boost feature and simeon asked what the rules were to choosing which casts and his words not mine were “for now i choose them” 💀

it's a philosophy for improving Farcaster centered on these loose beliefs:

- conversations are the lifeblood of the Farcaster network

- as the flagship Farcaster client, it's Warpcast's responsibility to embrace features that accelerate conversational velocity

- these features include things like reply bumping and a chronological "following" feed option

- these features benefit the mission-critical work of improving the Warpcast algo because more users discovering and participating in conversations gives the algo more data to work with

- "use another client" isn't cacc aligned because the majority of users will be on Warpcast for the foreseeable future and as long as the feature set is out of reach for most users, they cannot benefit network conversational velocity as a whole

keep the algo but also provide that live alternate feed that keeps conversations fresh and thriving

After reading this comment I was curious how much of an OG obsession the Warpcast Trending tab has.

I fetched the trending items. It seems limited to 100 items. It's also possible ChatGPT went wrong somewhere. Anyway, I plotted a histogram of the 100 results' FIDs. If you squint, you can see a slight bias towards OGs.
