I'm going with the meta answer: there are many differently useful ways to describe the same underlying world. Sean Carroll terms this "poetic naturalism" I try to be mindful of picking the right lens or framework given - situation/decision - people involved - knowledge/skill set (what I'm good/bad at)

Late response... but I want to mention knowledge and learning We take this for granted, but the internet provides incredible access to high quality education with minimal barriers and low/no cost. Personally, it allowed me to develop a completely new skill set in software. I think many developers have a similar story.
