It depends on which country you are speaking of. For example, the Lebanese army did little to nothing during the last war, yet with whatever you heard on news about hezzbulla, they where the ones who took care of the boarder lately and played defence against isreal. I wont say every country should have similar issues, for example america wont need such reseilence in it, the army is enough.

I see. So is hezbulla and the Lebanese army totally distinct? Why didn’t the Lebanese army do much? Would you prefer a strong military Lebanese army across the country or think that a small army approach would create more peace long term

Hezbulla now is parf of the govermant and a political part in lebanon Because its incapbale of standing isreal and if it was to stand against the idf the lebanese army would have been destroyed withing hours with the isreali airstrikers. [All places of normal armys compramised] thats one good reason to have another line of defenese If the lebanese army was well prepared yeah sure, but we all know the deal isreal is america's fav son
