Aave governance has been proposing some absolute bangers lately. Looking forward to seeing where the umbrella safety module nets out. aTokens feel much better for covering bad debt than gov tokens. https://governance.aave.com/t/bgd-aave-safety-module-umbrella/18366

We have been thinking about how governance through tools like Farcaster could work and have built an early experiment for “snapshot” voting for Nouns. If your FC account has a linked wallet with a delegated Noun, you can participate.

What percentage of Nouns revenue do you think comes from auctions vs to other income sources?

Do treasury swaps help drive auction purchases? Let's look at the onchain data. In the past 40 days, there have been 5 treasury swap offers: 3 passed and 2 are still candidates. All 5 Nouns involved in these offers were purchased at auction. For 3 of these offers, the Noun was purchased at auction and a swap candidate was created within 48 hours. We are also seeing this behavior in the $NOUNS instant swap contract, where Nouns are purchased at auction and instantly swapped. Ultimately, the decision on whether treasury swaps are beneficial lies with the DAO, but the data is interesting.

The big question is, are they worth the same? Or should one have a premium?

Nouns DAO will go broke next year.
If current trends continue, the DAO will face major financial strain. While our treasury spending has remained consistent, auction revenues have plummeted. Diversifying our revenue streams is no longer a nice to have. Some sobering statistics from the past 30 days: * Auction Proceeds: 100.2 ETH * Spending: 69.5 ETH + 2 nouns (data from Camp)
But…. there are five upcoming proposals starting this week with a total ETH request of ~171 ETH. We can remain complacent and hope auction revenue increases, or take proactive steps to seek out the future of the DAO. The choice is ours.

$nouns can't be the only solution right now. There's a limit on how many Nouns can be deposited before it impacts governance. The more Nouns in $nouns, the harder it is to pass proposals. While great for instant swaps and fractionalizing Nouns, it can strain governance until more Nouns are issued and the pool grows organically. The issue with $nouns (or any token that fractionalizes Nouns) is that it removes Nouns from the governance pool, making them unable to vote. This isn't necessarily bad, as these tokens add value. However, unlike regular Nouns, treasury Nouns don't count towards the vote quorum. Currently, about half of all Nouns are locked in the treasury. Swapping for these Nouns requires a proposal and a DAO vote, which is inefficient and costly. We've been thinking about how to improve the swap experience for treasury Nouns and we designed the TimelockNFTSwapper contract with this in mind. We'll be here to answer any questions and will be on the Nouncil call on Thursday if you want to join

We’ve been chatting with Nouners and we heard your request for more data. We’ll be adding a new 'Stats' page to NounSwap, where we will track Total Noun ownership (Nouns + $nouns) and monitor all swap, redemption, and deposit activity. What other Noun related data do you want to see surfaced here?
