i know we all gave up on voice thanks to a decade of siri but it can be great ux for ex: compare the cognitive load using self checkout vs ordering from a human the latter is far easier – declarative and direct, zero eye hand coordination or ui to understand “double cheese with fries; pay with card” <— clean

do you think human interactions are tedious or they would be more efficient without pleasantries?

they’d be more efficient and less tedious but efficiency isn’t always the goal. some interactions are more transactional in nature though, like ordering at a fast food restaurant or a very busy cafe. I’ve worked the latter and it can feel alienating going through the same menu of questions with each customer.
