Desire fuels the will to power, and the pleasure derived from wielding power often leads people to lose sight of reality. The underlying logic behind most tragedies is that the good in human nature is inherently fragile. Whenever power, be it political or financial, is used to create hierarchies, it inevitably unleashes the darkness within us. The fundamental truth is that the evil in human nature tends to harm the good, simply because good is too weak.
