The difference between Twitter and Farcaster is the freedom for experimentation. 

What are people looking for in a social media?

Is everyone just fucking around and posting memes to gain followers so that they can sell them some garbage they don’t know about? 

Is this the social media everyone wants? What problem are you solving? @dwr.eth?

Farcaster solves the censorship on Twitter. But..

Twitter was built in the first place to incentivise viral content. To incentivise creators to make addictive content. 

Who’s rethinking the idea of the social media? It feels so depressing after having  learnt that social media is an attention sucking machine. Am I a doomer? Are we doomed?

Fair. Even then, the base protocol should have a vision to build the right underlying infrastructure, right? 

I’ll have to look deeper into Farcaster tech to comment on this further.

Anyone can permissionlessly build a new client or idea on top of the Farcaster protocol.
