Nice tactic! Rg3 pins the queen. If black takes the rook with fxg3 then white plays Qxg5.

Hmm, I’m thinking 1. Nxd2+, Bxd2 2. Re6, e1=Q 3. Rxe1, Bxe1 4. b7 Now blacks bishop would need to go to g3 to cover whites promotion square but g3 is protected so white will promote next turn. Or another line could be 1. Nxd2+, Ka1 or Ka2 2. Re6, Bxb6 3. Rxb6, e1=Q, 4. Ra6#

Where is that from? It looks like the Environments pictogram from the Apple Vision Pro.

Ah you mean the bass is better on the AirPods? Haven’t thought about that but will try it out!

In a quiet environment (not on a plane obviously) the built in speakers on the AVP sound amazing too with awesome directional sound.

Big fan of this update on chess dot com. Happened to me several times that I was in a winning position, fiddled with the king then decided I wanted to move the rook and ooops now I’ve castled right into an attack! 😫

It’s awesome seeing it in the cinema but the AVP screen is not a “small screen”, it’s bigger than even a cinema screen!

The only thing that comes to mind is the default calendar complication on the Infograph watch face which has the day & date in the top middle and up next on the circular minutes track, so technically both of them in one complication. Personally I tend to use two separate complications for those but that’s me :)

Good point! I feel like having human-level AGI agents would be similar to how if I was rich today I could have a personal assistant, advisors etc to make my life easier. If we’re talking about AI vastly more powerful than humans then I agree there is a question of what are the role of humans in such a world.

Artificial heating, houses, indoor plumbing, cars, clothes, writing etc etc are all cheat codes to life but they don’t make life not worth playing.

That’s what his marketing says but there is no way he can achieve that only with what he’s doing now. The goal of life extension right now is to live long enough for real robust life extension tech to arrive. I think 95% of people will be able to achieve that with just the simple stuff I mentioned above.

Personally I think it’s the exact opposite! I.e normal stuff like eating well, getting enough sleep, exercise regularly, don’t smoke, limit sugar will probably get you 95% of the longevity benefits of his regime without the high cost blood testing, niche supplements, on-staff doctors etc.

Found some anecdotes but not sure if there are any concrete studies. The idea is that if you’re working in front of computer screen it’s good for your eyes to take breaks and focus on things far away from time to time, and when you’re in VR you tend to do that a lot. https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/s/8RIQh9Ysgu

I think AVP might actually be better for your eyesight than using a laptop screen since with the Vision Pro you can have your windows be far away with large text which allows your eyes to avoid focusing on close-up text.

Yeah it’s not following any kind of distribution where you can argue that it’s going to “revert to the mean” or anything like that.

I tried it out and it was nice! The fully immersive environment was cool but I was surprised that if you didn’t want to play in fully immersive mode then you couldn’t resize the window. Pinch to jump worked great and reliable although I fell a lot on my head when trying to flip haha 😂

I mean you can totally calculate the number you were looking for in your original question! But if your reason for calculating that number was to use it to inform your trading then yeah that’s not a great use of your time.

I feel like when it was like one or two movies per year it was easy to follow but then they started releasing several entire tv shows rapidly and then I could no longer keep up. So now when a new movie is out I’m always nervous that I’ll miss something that was covered in one of the TV shows 😅
