2010 was yet another year where I think that every band that released an album released arguably the worst album in their discography (Avantasia, Freedom Call, Excalion, Eluveitie, etc.).

There were really only two “album of the year” contenders - Orphaned Land (though this is probably their second worst release too) and Heljareyga.

Giving it to Heljareyga, though if I compiled a list of all the best “albums of the year”, this would almost certainly rank last on that list too. Tough few years for power/prog/folk metal here.
