safari 17 adds WebAuthn `largeBlob` support, which (i think) is the missing piece to allowing crypto wallets to trivially work via passkeys/webauthn many other use cases too! anything you want to store securely on the client more context https://github.com/w3c/webauthn/wiki/Explainer:-WebAuthn-Large-Blob-Extension

1Password proposed a different solution to this last year (MetaMask +1'd), and largeBlob was the main alternative https://github.com/w3c/webextensions/blob/main/proposals/secure-storage.md#faq largeBlob was lacking in 1) browser support, but is now in Chrome 113 and coming to Safari 2) security details - still valid!
