Churros (Spanish: churros) is a sweet fried pastry made of custard dough, having the appearance of a multi—pointed star in cross section or simply round in cross section. The homeland of churros is Spain, where they are traditionally served for breakfast. Churros are similar to a doughnut — they are also fried in oil — but differ in an elongated or spiral shape. The dish is prepared using a special churrera device or a pastry bag, covered with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Dessert can be filled with jam, condensed milk or chocolate. Usually the treat is served with a cup of hot cocoa or coffee.
