"too formal" was bad wording, but I think having a DAO for something like this is not necessary. Just a token-gated group chat, enthusiastic and motivated people and probably some kind of schedule for study groups, debates, sharing ideas and opinions etc.

Not sure how you mean that D: If you mean that the group should be a DAO, I don't want that - too formal and too much for the scope of what I have in mind. Basically, I would like to try and create a group of motivated people willing to dedicate time for discussions, study groups etc.

Open to ideas btw on how to potentially making it less gatekeepy without allowing everyone to just join. Ideally the people that would join the group are willing to dedicate some time each week to it, which is a really big ask. But I think that way a lot of great convos can be had and a lot can be learned.

Would have rules too, I think. So if for example someone gets way too heated often or just brings chaos, the person can be removed. I think having a small group of people interested in discussions, learning together (study groups etc.) would be really cool.

I would however make it invite-only and probably give those who are in already invites too, something like this perhaps. Don't want it to be open for everyone, as it feels like it would massively reduce the quality. I don't want to gatekeep everyone else, so perhaps some kind of "application" system or smth 4/x

I've been thinking of creating a FC-native group that tries to do that: • discussions/debates • study groups for papers/EIPs etc. • sharing interesting stuff one comes across And perhaps do scheduled spaces/debates on certain topics with others outside the group? 3/x
