Is a CS Degree still worth it? If yes, to what degree? (Pun intended 😂) If no, why?

Knowing how to write code is a useful skill. The paper which certifies that doesn’t really matter as much

Yes, to the degree that an undergrad curriculum prepares students with solid foundational knowledge and allows exploration into various specializations No, when student loans become crippling post-graduation when coding bootcamps and open source learning provides all the same knowledge Depends on learning techniques

Yea because unfortunately, coding interviews are all CS fundamental questions. You’ll never use most of that stuff at work, but you need the foundation.

I think largely depends on circumstances and person’s risk tolerance, and ability to self-learn. I’m not in the business of giving advice but it’s always the same equation — fundamentals (through CS degree or deep interest in math/cs), skill to learn, taste (through experience), community (to keep going), faith
