it’s kind of insane to think that my healthiest, multiyear group chats with friends are on Slack. we can share links, notifications are super simple but ubiquitous. it’s very easy to create a thread/sidechat. 100% gated. NO SPAM or random messages from people wanting to hire me.

I like Slack AND it feels like the UI has changed to be more “enterprise” in the last couple of years. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I really feel comfortable in an iRC-style chat

I’ve got a few 7 year long group chats running on twitter. Longest and still active. Not without its ups and downs. Group chats that stick seem like an emergent feature. Has to be right time n place.
