I used to when I was younger... Now I'm more of a nihilist about collapse because I have a family and there's no way we would survive any real collapse, what am I going to do fight off the armed meth gangs with trucks? Yeah right. But still, I've been meaning to do a big overhaul on my emergency pack and supplies, I should do it.

yeah :< once it comes down to it the only way would be thru obscurity... emergency pack and supplies would be good for week/month-long disruptions, good call.

thank you!! i'm hoping to make it all ..not alarming and more fun, you know? b/c prepping (to me) can be very anxiety-inducing (the sense of not doing "enough") so it feels better to checklist and be done with it.

Yeah and would also help with long term stuff in a pinch, things like filter + water tabs, meds, extensive first aid, battery powered radio and flashlight. Can always work on skills too, I like your list. I teach my kids a little bit of foraging knowledge for example. I'm no hunter though, I don't think I could do it unless I really had to.
