Today, my kids and I completed @christin’s bounty, which called for donating to Simply the Basics, or one of its official partner locations.

Using a portion of their allowances, which they set aside to “Give” to a charity or cause of their choice, my kids and I purchased over $250 in toiletries and personal hygiene supplies (pictured: box 1 of 3), which we donated to Bridges to Change. 

BTC aims to support people on their recovery journeys through a combination of community-based housing, peer delivered services, and behavioral health treatment. I couldn’t think of a worthier cause!

Empathy, generosity, and social responsibility are values I’ve tried to instill in my kids since they were really young. Covid put a temporary halt to our in-person opportunities, but we’ve been trying to make up for it in recent years! They’re very enthusiastic and get really into it, which helps too :)
