I am running a Mac Studio with the M2 Max chip and 64GB of RAM. I use it for music production (Ableton Live and Logic), but I haven’t updated the OS past Ventura. Is there any actual benefit in doing so if everything is running smoothly? I am always really cautious of updating.

The creative process, even for experienced practitioners, is not linear. I just finished mixing/mastering my latest release which, frankly, tested my patience. Days of meticulous adjustments (that no one will ever notice) battling totally subjective inconsistencies. This experience underscores the importance of a pragmatic approach to this kind of problem-solving, which requires to clear your head many times during the day in order to listen to the material with fresh ears. While proficiency mitigates some challenges, it clearly does not eliminate them 🤦‍♂️
