A student is researching workplace abuse. Difficult to guide as she's experienced it (she's +40y). One of the learnings is that's heard to pinpoint (& it's not illegal to be a jerk). If you can't pinpoint it = ppl don't speak up. A list of stuff that your boss/peer shouldn't do. Plz add - yell - throw objects at you

You gotta learn how to document. At least in the US the burden is on the victim - keep a journal, document date/time of every transgression, and who witnessed it; have to show a history of this - know when you can and cannot record meetings e.g. single party vs both party consent - go to the doctor and report 🧵

Your anxiety, depression, etc Having a healthcare professional document your symptoms and health effects helps build you case - get others in your workplace experiencing abuse to do the same; the more the more believable your case is

Isn't this fucked up? You're already dealing with being bullied at work, most prob struggling with focus, stressed at home, and now you have to double your admin work
