I find books like Read Write Own actively dangerous in overhyping usecases where public blockchains are significantly more centralized, unfair, and inefficient than alternatives This is why I think it's important to write about strict global consensus- this is the one actually unique & useful property we must focus on

Those apps being social networks, games, NFTs, storytelling, making financial infrastructure a public good, AI, and deepfakes. Other than AI, I would say those all benefit strict global consensus And overall this book seems to me like a good intro on why strict global consensus on the internet even matters

What it doesn't tell you is that a blockchain and its tokens are just 5 more companies' servers, this time with even more centralized ownership, and without regulations for positive change Of course, I'm being hyperbolic, but given the information asymmetry I believe it's justified
