I love invite-only for growth β€” it creates FOMO + scarcity. But if Clubhouse taught us anything, it’s that you need a curation strategy. What happens to content quality when you open things up? Maintain relevance, curation & personalisation. Better-in-class examples are LinkedIn anno 2003 and Raya (dating app).

I’d say for LinkedIn, the platform managed to open up and maintain content relevant for users. Raya has opened up slightly using paid memberships and continues to be very selective with new members. With Raya, the only concern is market size. Exclusivity comes at a price.
