This logic, that only the fraudsters will make a lot of noise when the SS payments turn off, and that's somehow an efficient way to identify fraud is just so painfully disconnected from reality and highlights that none of these guys know what they're doing. https://youtu.be/182ckTL2KBA?si=GWGf4Ckx4i8Q9Rcn&t=2490

@chaplino
What’s the issue? We shouldn’t audit social security payments?

No that's never been the issue. The issue is the auditing method and what's being suggested in this clip. Unlike Lutnick's mother in law, my almost 90 year old Uncle has been on a fixed income for years, needs his SS checks each month to pay for mortgage, utilities, food, phone. He's going to notice right away if he doesn't get his check and he's going to call and make a big deal about it because it's a big deal for him. Lutnick here is suggesting that 1. It's an acceptable disruption to find the fraud which is ridiculous on its face and 2. That my Uncle raising the issue is likely to result in him being investigated or interpreted to be a fraudster, which is insane.
