The way I see it, any position I have that represents a political power minority is not likely to be the path to obtaining the power I need to enact different policy. It’s a Machiavellian game, made worse by non-proportional, non-majoritarian republic structures like the Senate and Electoral College. I don’t need a superhero to inspire me. I need an operative to do whatever it takes to penetrate power. Warmly acknowledging people like me might not be that operative’s winning strategy.

But we’re not a democracy. We’re a republic. Hillary Clinton and Al Gore won the popular vote. Non-logarithmic polling (on linear scales) is irrelevant because that’s not how power is obtained in the United States. We’ve been “winning” on linear scales and losing power consistently.
