Exploring Bluesky has been good. It reminded me the tech-optimist leftist bubble I've been in. The AI hatred among the left (yes, it's not just the libs) is insane. There are meaningful conversations to have around consent, scabbing, unemployment, social upheaval. It's coming and we will HAVE TO talk about these eventually. But instead, the left is abandoning reality and leaving it to the right to shape the narrative.

I’ve also found more pro-crypto and AI leftists on Bluesky than anywhere else; maybe even more than Farcaster. It’s been refreshing. And there’s soooooo much anarchist content on Bluesky, it’s crazy! The compliment of these two “platforms” is much more realized than any other combination I’ve tried.

Planning to delete my twitter soon, and I've been vacillating between deleting my bsky too or starting to actually use it. Seems like a lot of the online left have started repeating the same old toxic patterns there, which is what's kept me away so far.

Thanksgiving showed me how fearful liberals are of technology. I think it is a control thing, but I also think it is the bubble they live in. I have always been a tech optimist. Social upheaval is a good thing. AI (& Crypto) are a chance to shake society up for the better.

The lack of imagination around AI and crypto from fellow libs/leftists is shocking at times. It’s self-defeating, too. These things will materially impact the world. So often people seem content to make a value judgement as if that’s enough to critically engage with these things
